In late March, 3-year-old Natalia Raquel Alvarado died in a car accident on South Padre Island when a drunk driver hit the car she was a passenger in.
The other passengers in the vehicle, two adults and four children, also suffered injuries and were taken to Valley Regional Hospital following the accident.
The driver of the SUV that caused the crash was charged with manslaughter and intoxication assault.
The six other passengers in the vehicle did not suffer life-threatening injuries. However, 3-year-old Natalia was not as fortunate.
